Software and
Support Files
To make the design-in process as easy as possible for its
customers, SMSC offers a wide variety of support tools, including
sample BIOS, diagnostics programs, sample schematics and PCB
layout files, driver programs, industry standard specifications
and other documentation.
This index lists SMSC's software and support files, which
are also available on SMSC's FTP server. Most of these files
can be downloaded directly from this or a linked page by your
web browser. Select the directory for the software or file
you require from the list below.

Determining Which File to Download
The descriptive index, above, is intended to aid your selection of which driver
to download. If you are unable to determine which file to download for your
particular application, feel free to contact SMSC's Technical
Support by phone or email.
Please note that the Webmaster is unable to provide guidance
in this area; please contact technical support directly.
Locating a Specific File
You may use the search entry box in the upper right corner of this page to
locate a particular filename. For the search engine to locate a filename,
however, the entire filename including the period and 3 character extension
must be entered. For example type: 68x.zip not 68x.
If you are in the descriptive index, you might also use the find command
within your browser. But that limits you to only the files
described on that Web page.
Problems with Downloading
Even with SMSC's high-bandwidth Internet connection and servers, the dynamic
nature of the Internet sometimes prevents files from being successfully downloaded.
SMSC provides alternate means of downloading the files.
If you are not able to download the files by clicking in
the above descriptive index (using http), you might want to
try SMSC's Anonymous FTP Server (ftp.smsc.com) at 631-233-4272
using a standalone FTP client.
If you have an alternate Internet Service Provider (ISP),
try to download the file using a different provider. Even major
ISPs sometimes have problems with packet loss when network
demand increases.
