Locations

SMSC's marketing, customer support, operations and administrative staff are based in Hauppauge, Long Island, New York. Our engineering design centers are located in Tucson and Phoenix, Arizona; Hauppauge, New York; Austin, Texas; Karlsruhe, Germany; Göteborg, Sweden; Sofia, Bulgaria; Ottawa, Ontario; and Chennai, India. SMSC also has a marketing and customer support site in San Jose, California, as well as international operations in Seoul, Korea; Shanghai, China; Tokyo, Japan; Taipei, Taiwan; Hong Kong; Singapore; and Rosenheim, Germany.

SMSC currently employs approximately 930 employees worldwide with 330 based on Long Island.

Benefits

SMSC offers a wide range of insurance benefits to employees, including health care (medical, dental and vision plans), life insurance and long-term disability coverage. All employees accrue a certain number of vacation days per year depending on length of service, and we offer personal and sick leave. SMSC also offers an employee referral program, a tuition refund program, and has a promote-from-within philosophy. All open positions are advertised internally in support of this policy. In the US, a 401(k) retirement savings plan, offering a company match and various investment options, is available, along with health and dependent care reimbursement accounts and a 529 (College Savings) plan.
